Life Technologies Corp., announced that it has completed the previously announced acquisition of Ion Torrant for $375-million in cash and stock. By aquiring Ion Torrant, Life Technologies takes over their DNA sequencing technology which utilizes semiconductors. The resulting sequencing system is simpler, faster, less expensive, and scalable for other sequencing technologies.
